Our assembly this term was about WW1. We have been learning lots about this topic in our lessons and shared some interesting information. We had a quiz to for all of the parents and carers which they found very interesting and extremely funny. We acted out different scenarios, sang a variety of WW1 songs and read out sample of our work. We even brought tears to the eyes of some of our audience.
In maths, we have been ordering numbers from largest to smallest. We worked in teams and all had to write a number on our whiteboards. We had to get in order from smallest to largest or largest to smallest. The first team to get in the order were the winners but we had to check everyone was in the correct place.
“l loved playing this game especially when my team won.” JP
“This game made everyone think hard about the numbers. We got one or two in the wrong places.” LS
Team 1 were learning about weighing in maths so used this opportunity to follow a recipe, and make some World War I food. There was a lot of maths involved. However the best bit was eating the end result. A huge thank you to Miss Herriot’s Mam for coming in to help us!
