On Friday 5th June on the final day of science week we learnt all about the rainforest. Our outside play house turned into the rainforest, with lots of animals to draw and write about. We got to meet some real animals in the afternoon when zoo lab came into school.
On Friday 19th June, we had a pirate day in nursery. We all dressed up as pirates and made our own treasure maps. We made a pirate ship in our outside area. We followed a recipe to make a spicy pirate drink, using ginger and lemon.
Walk for safety
On Wednesday 10th June at 10 am our whole school took part in the Brake’s Giant Walk for safety. Each class designed their own banners and posters to tell motorists to slow down and drive carefully. We want everyone to drive at 20 mph around our school to make sure we are safe.
We got a great response from motorists who slowed down and honked their horns at us. We even got a round of applause from passers by!
Visit from our parents
We were lucky enough to have some of our parents into nursery to tell us about their jobs. We learnt about being a nurse, running a hotel and making a website. We asked lots of fantastic questions and the children liked learning about different jobs.
On Monday 18th May we had a visit from the fire fighters at Stanhope.
Police visit to EYFS
On Wednesday 13th May our Police Community Support Officer, George, came into school to tell us about his job. He told us how he helps us to stay safe.
He showed us his ticket book and told us the things people do wrong like dropping litter or not wearing a seat belt.
