During Team 2’s Bush Craft activities, we had great fun learning outdoors. We set up a camp and built a camp fire. Then we made our own bread sticks and toasted them over the fire – delicious!
Team 2 Visit Bede’s World
On Wednesday 13th May, Team 2 went to Bede’s World, Jarrow. We toured the Anglo-Saxon farm and were well informed about food and farming in Anglo-Saxon times. Their favourite meal was undoubtedly “pig tail broth”.
We took part in a range of activities including making an Anglo-Saxon bracelet, grinding wheat, dressing up in Anglo-Saxon armour and some fearsome warrior training.
The Beowulf workshop during the afternoon was great fun with our very own actors and actresses entertaining the crowd with gruesome tales.
Child Pedestrian Training Scheme
Children in Team 2 were invited to take part in Pedestrian Training, delivered by Durham County Council. They watched a DVD showing the risks of being a pedestrian near busy roads and then they put their learning into practice, outdoors.
