Durham County Council has declared a climate emergency and they wanted to hear the views of our pupils at Frosterley Primary School. A group of ambassadors for Climate Change worked with Alice Grieve, OASES Junior Project Officer, as part of the consultation, to set targets and to highlight the key issues.
“I learned that little changes could make a big difference. Even just by switching the lights off when we don’t need them, we could make a difference to the earth’s atmosphere.” TR
“I want to do something to save the polar bears. The ice is melting too quickly because the earth is warming up. If we are not careful, polar bears could become extinct.” AT
“I enjoyed learning about pollution. We can’t always see it but it is always there. So, we may not even know when we are damaging our planet.” FW
